Shall we continue?

Goldenstripe looked up at the stars. "In the night of death, hope sees a star...." he whispered the rest.

I stared, slightly curious, as he mumbled something about a star. What was he talking about?

He looked at her. "In the night of death, hope sees a star, and listening love can hear the rustle of a wing," Goldenstripe meowed. "That means that Hawktalon will always be with you and watch over you from StarClan. He LOVES you, and will never leave you, Russetdawn. Love is a powerful thing, and NOTHING can break that bond." He looked up at the stars again. "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal."

(I have to go now!)

I looked at Goldenstripe, slightly astonished. Who would have thought we would have such a poetic deputy? I then lifted my face to look back up at the stars, which one are you, Hawktalon?

(LOL Everyone has a talent! XD)

"My mother taught my that phrase," Goldenstripe confessed. "When I was 2 moons old...before she died from a sickess that our medicine cat couldn't treat." He looked up at the sky. "Sometimes I wonder which one is her."

Pebblepaw was putting away the burrdock root in the medicine cat's den when Cragjumper came in all beaten up. "Oh starclan." he mumbled as he examined the wounds and went to fetch goldenrod. When he reappeared he was chewing the goldenrod into a pulp. "This should help the wounds it heal." He meowed through chews and soon layed the pulp onto the various wounds.

(Oh so very late. XD)

Cragjumper let out a wince as Pebblepaw plastered the pulp on his neck. "Can you make it not sting as much?" he complained.

(Don't be afraid to ignore him or scold him like everyone else who thinks he's a big pain in the tail...LOL)

Firefoot watched as Pebblepaw helped Cragjumper, "Sorry Cragjumper there is nothing that will stop it from stinging, and great job remembering what herb to use Pebblepaw." Firefoot said as she praised her apprentice.

"I never knew my actual mother," I meowed, why was I telling him this? "She died when she gave birth to me, and my father left me right after..."

(It's fine. LOL)

Cragjumper mumbled something, but only laid his head on his paws.

"I'm sorry to hear about that," Goldestripe meowed. "I never knew my father, but most cats assumed he was a loner or a rogue." He glanced at her again. "Any siblings?"

"My brother died at birth," I replied.

(Goldenstripe: Geez, our lives suck! XD)

Goldenstripe put his tail on her shoulder. "I'm sorry to hear about that..." He murmured the rest.

(Russetdawn: Yes, yes they do)

"I had someone to help me out though," I continued, really hating myself for spilling out my life story like that. Was it because he knew about the pain I'm suffering through? "Her name was Twig, she was almost like a mother to me."

"Tell me about her," Goldenstripe urged.

(LOL. Don't even ask him about his brother. XD)

"Twig found me a few days after my father left, her kits had just been killed by a fox and so she still had milk to give me," I rambled on, cursing at myself all the while. "She taught me everything a rogue could possibly need: how to hunt, fight, find food and water, stuff like that. It was during one of the harshest leaf bares, and I had turned six moons not too long ago, when she left me. But that's the way of the rogue: fight only for yourself..." I paused before asking. "What was your family like? Do you have any siblings?"

Goldenstripe blinked in surprise at her question. "My family? Well...I never knew my father, though most cats made fun of me because I'm half-Clan...and my mother was Snowfall. Her fur was as white as snow and as soft as feathers, with blue eyes as blue as the ocean...she died from a disease when I was 2 moons old. I...had an older brother named Sunclaw." He growled his brother's name.

"What was Sunclaw like?" I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me.

(The taboo question! DUN DUN DUN!)

(Of course you had to ask that XD)

"Sunclaw never liked me," Goldenstripe meowed. "When we were kits, he would often play by himself. When Snowfall died, he became..worse. He grew aggressive, and violent. He would often snap at me for no reason and abuse me. When I fell off the cliff and broke my paw," he lifed his right front paw and showed her how awry it was. "He would tease me about it and ignore me for moons! Cragjumper became my brother and he helped me get past my Clanmate's teasing. After a few moons...he betrayed us all."

Pebblepaw looked up at her in surprise, he didn't even hear her walk in. Pebblepaw nodded to the she-cat. "What about Comfery root?" He asked. "It sooths wounds doesn't it?"

Pebblepaw padded into the storage anyway and noticed that the comfery root was low. He brang the last bit over anyway and gave it to Cragjumper. "I'm not chewing that into a pulp!" He retorted stubbornly. "If you want to complain you lay it on your wounds where it hurts yourself. Besides it has a bitter taste." He stuck his tounge out remembering last time he had chewed one. "Firefoot." Pebblepaw turned to the she-cat. "We're low on comfrey root, should I go get some?"

Goldenstripe let out a snort. "Don't be. He's gone now...and maybe it'll be more peaceful now. Not many cats could get past my paw. I hunt different, fight different, I even walk and rundifferent!"

Cragjumper let out a stubborn growl, but clearly learned his lesson.
